🛡️ Active Shield
Ascorbate, sorbate, carmine & glutamate chemistry — engineered protection against color, oxidation, microbial and flavor failure
Active Shield is Rockets’ functional protection category — four complementary systems, each named after the specific active chemistry it deploys: Karmo (from Carmine, color stabilization), Asco (from Ascorbate, antioxidant protection), Sorba (from Sorbate, antimicrobial preservation), and Glumo (from Glutamate, natural umami without synthetic MSG). Each exists in dedicated red meat and poultry formulations because the underlying biochemistry genuinely differs between species.
Beef
ChickenFive Real Problems on the Line
- Color fading — myoglobin oxidizing into brownish metmyoglobin before the product reaches the shelf.1
- Rancidity and off-flavors from lipid oxidation during frozen and chilled storage, measured industrially via the TBARS assay.2
- Microbial spoilage — Clostridium spore-formers surviving pasteurization in red meat; Salmonella and Listeria as poultry-specific risks.
- Pressure to remove MSG from the label without losing umami depth.
- Poultry’s higher-unsaturated fat fraction making it significantly more prone to freezer-burn oxidation than red meat.
Before / After
Production lineHow Active Shield Works
Every product in this family is named after the scientific mechanism it targets — not a marketing identity.
Karmo — Color Lock
Self-protecting, synergistic stabilization technology that locks natural carmine against the purple/blue shifts caused by pH fluctuation or heat — the practical metmyoglobin oxidation solution for stable, natural color.
Asco — Dual-Phase Antioxidant
Combines water-soluble and fat-soluble antioxidants and mixed tocopherols to build a self-regenerating protective cycle, addressing oxidation in both the aqueous and lipid phases simultaneously — the mechanism behind how to prevent rancidity in frozen meat, since single-phase antioxidants leave one side of the product unprotected.3
Sorba — Broad-Spectrum Preservation
Organic acids combined with natural bacteriocins — antimicrobial peptides that specifically target spore-forming and pathogenic bacteria — via a slow-release delivery system, functioning as a natural preservative for processed meat without synthetic additives.
Glumo — Natural Umami
Natural dried meat/poultry extract, peptide-rich umami alternatives, and engineered amino acids that recreate and intensify the Maillard reaction pathway,4 delivering umami depth as a genuine MSG alternative with natural umami — no synthetic MSG, no added sodium load.
Frost vs. Cold Cuts — Why They’re Not Interchangeable
Frost variants are built around cell-protective functional sugars that guard structure during the freeze-thaw cycle itself. Cold Cuts variants are built around a heat-reactive carrier system engineered to stay effective through an extended pasteurization cycle. One protects against ice-crystal and freeze-thaw stress; the other against prolonged thermal exposure — genuinely different physical challenges.
Built For Your Production Line
Wash Active Shield Chicken Fresh is a chicken wash sanitizer used before injection and marination to remove blood residue and vascular odor, with no red-meat equivalent. Red meat & poultry versions are each independently calibrated for species-specific fat composition, protein strength, and microbial risk profile.
- Extend shelf life without synthetic preservatives.
- Achieve consistent, stable color across every batch.
- Remove MSG from the label without sacrificing flavor depth.
- Reduce spoilage-related product loss and recalls.

A Strategic Ally, Not Just a Supplier
At Rockets, we go beyond the concept of supplying food additives to give your products an absolute competitive edge and market confidence. We fully understand the daily challenges facing production lines — from texture control and emulsion stability, through shelf-life issues and thermal stress, to ensuring food safety — and it is from the heart of these challenges that our vision was born.
Rockets is not a direct manufacturer — we are a Turkish R&D center that designs solution systems, then licenses their manufacturing to certified manufacturers across different markets: the latest technology, unified quality standards, and the flexibility of local, fast supply.
